What are you thankful for?

While we know Thanksgiving is an American holiday, we think giving thanks and expressing words of gratitude is something that we can all share around the world.

Even if you do not celebrate the holiday this Thursday, we want to know what you’re thankful for. If it’s a fellow Local Guide, be sure to tag them and tell them how you feel.

We’ll start to kick things off. Here on Connect, we are so thankful for this incredibly passionate community of Local Guides around the world that we have the opportunity to communicate and share experiences with.

What are you thankful for? Tell us in the comments below.

@KatieMcBroom I am extremely family-oriented and so very, very thankful that they choose to put up with me as I do not make it easy but I do LOVE them so much! Also, as time passes I am more and more thankful for good health as it often gets overlooked but is so very important — THANK YOU for both!!!

Being a member of the “Bangladesh Local Guide” is a great thing for me. I’m thankful for everything about BDGL.

Especially, @MahabubMunna vai, @SoniaK apu, @Designer_Biswajit dada and more people (I’m not mentioning) are much dedicated about BDGL and other members of BDGL. I like to thank them for a thousand.

But I like to give a million of thanks to Google for this platform (connect, local guide program, etc.)

I am thankful both for my nuclear family (my wife, kids, siblings, parents) and my Local Guides family both in the U.S. and abroad. I have an easy time being thankful for such a kind and supportive community, especially on Connect. We are so blessed to have this hobby of helping Maps and seeing thousands of others who are out there snapping photos, writing reviews, making edits, and adding content doing exactly the same even in the moment of typing this.

First of all…Thank you @KatieMcBroom to this fantastic post!!

Personally I think that the gratitude to different thing might change according to the country,

As a Western, I had the chance to read allot about Oriental philosophy which has changed a lot of my personal way of seeing the world.

That’s why I’m not only thankful not only for life in general but also the smallest thing, from the daily experiences to my morning coffee ( seriously who isn’t thankful for that in the morning XD)

Appreciation helps us see the world in better shape…so thanks Google for giving me the chance of meeting in person such a beautiful community

wish to all a beautiful day

I’m thankful for a few things @KatieMcBroom

  • my family - who put up with me being a Local Guide and working on a volunteer run railway and my wife who even joins in now!
  • Connect Live - being able to go and join the enthusiastic throng of Local Guides to learn and contribute further to the Local Guides program
  • that the world is changing and that people are becoming more tolerant so that my gay autistic son can actually have a place in the world - thank you Australia for the “yes” vote
  • that the world is more accepting and caring about disabilities - if I told you some of the horrific things that happened to my deaf brother when we were kids you’d know we’ve come a long way
  • that the world is promoting equality and we’re starting to show signs of closing pay and authority gaps with women in the workplace
