Thank you for asking. There are no communication about an event in 2022 but, due to the fact that we are at the end of April already, and the pandemic with the related travel restrictions in many countries is not over, I personally think we will not have an in person event this year.
Stay tuned in the Announcement section of connect and make sure to Update Your email preference to be informed via mail about events and promotions / rewards

Will the be a Connect Live this year? It’s one of dreams to attend the event and meet up in person with the different local guides from all over the world.

The answer to this is, it’s not certain that there will be. Perhaps I should even say I don’t know.
We should get news officially here if there are plans for a connect live.

@Ellen-Brooms Currently we haven’t heard anything official about Connect Live 2022. Judging from past years, the application process usually is started during early in the year, and the announcement will be during May. Then the event itself is usually close towards the end of the year. Considering we haven’t heard anything so far, it doesn’t look like it will be happening this year. Hopefully we’ll get it next year.
Make sure to stay tune to Local Guides Connect as it will be the sure way of knowing when the event is announced.

No, we will not have a Connect Live 2022. It hasn’t been announced (normally it is announced early in the beginning of the year) at the preparation require months, so there is no the technical time for preparing it for 2022.
The competition is hard, and only the few Top Local Guides are invited.
So you should consider this as an opportunity, as you have 7 month for improving your contributions, removing All the contents that you downloaded from the web and the redundant photos, because actually the high opportunity that you have is to be removed from the program, more than to be invited to a Google event.
Stay tuned on the announcement board, where the event, if we will have one, will be announced
