Hi, my google local guide points down to 2300 from 3800 on last day, I am sure I didn’t violate any google policy but don’t know what about it. Can I recover my point??

I note that the answer count on your profile badge is zero.
That would happen when you access the “web and activities” through settings or through myactivity.google.com and select to delete that automatically.
Please change the setting to “keeping the activity till you delete it manually”.
Also, please note, the loss of points happened because of that is irrevocable.

Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, you can not restore your points but I will give you some tips on how to avoid such future situation.
Normally points can be lost due to two reasons and can depend on your settings for Google’s My Activity. Please have a look there to check your settings. You may have forgotten to mark ‘‘keep your activity’’, otherwise activity is deleted and points are being lost as well. You can read more about that on this article: How do I delete my answers to questions on Google Maps?
If your activity is OK then there must be another reason. If some of your contributions are determined to be in a violation of the content policy, our filter running automatically in background, may have marked them and you lost your points because of this.
If you feel that your contributions are all ok and you didn’t see anything wrong, you can tag someone of us - Google moderator here, to have them checked if your account is experiencing some issue.

Don’t forget to tag people when you answer them so they are able to see your answer right away. You can do this using @ in front of someones nickname.

I recently saw that I dropped down from Level 6 to Level 5.
Is this a common effect or does something go wrong?

The loss Iin points happens primarily because of deletion of Maps history @kstergi . I suggest you review the settings of the web and app history at myactivity.google.com
Change that to retain the activities forever.
Also please note that the loss in points happened thus is not recoverable.

If your setting on My Activity are different from the screenshot here below, the answer you gave will no longer linked to your profile, and the relevant points no longer attributed

Having answered a lot of questions about different places I have visited. I notice my points are 000. I thought you got 3 points for answering questions
It’s also just occurred to me I have no idea what the points are for is it just a guides flex?

I’m not sure there is an answer to my question here there seems to be lots of answers to other questions.
As far as I can see after try to sift through the unrelated questions there is an option to keep your contributions fo ever or automatically delete them, mine are set to remain. So I’ll ask again

Please have in mind that points can take up to 24 hours to be updated, as per the article I sent you. It is not very often, but also sometimes there might be a delay in the synchronization. Can you confirm if more than 24 hours has passed and you still didn’t get your points?
P.S.: Please use the tagging tool when responding. This way it’s much easier to follow the discussion as I get a notification. You can do it by putting the symbol “@” in front of the nickname.
