Here a panorama, Wellington Waterfront, ‘solace in the wind’ a statue by Max Patte. Thos was taken just after a downpour (actually it was still raining) and just before sunset. These weather conditions make for the jade tint, those colors were real ?
- @indi001 thank you for sharing this with us. It is an iconic statue of Wellington. I have written a post about it Highlights of where to visit in Wellington*
Hi @indi001 ,
wow stunning photos, they are so beautiful! And I love Wellington, and more in general New Zealand.
Are they your photos, right? How did you make them, which camera do you use?

- @LuigiZ I always miss this small town so many of my post I mentioned about it. I was volunteering with the Wellington City of Council when I was a student there so that I could tell or give direction to cruise ships passengers. In one week, there were around 3-4 cruises docked in Wellington Harbour. Most of them are from Australia. Btw, how did you bring the link (Wellington) in? Is it the same as mentioned our post here?*
Hi @LuigiZ Luigi, thanks for the hint. I will write an introduction post shortly.
As for your question, yes, all images I post are my own (the watermark on those is mine too btw). If I ever posted an image taken by someone else, I would credit them - Having some 15000 images on stock, though, I wouldn’t come in such a situation anytime soon ?
Those two images are multyshot panoramas, taken with a Canon EOS 6d m1 and a Sigma 24mm f1.4 ART lens.
I’m a Wellington based photographer doing this as a business. I also wrote a little article about how I shot the pano of the statue, here an image of this one connecting the individual shots ‘manually’, to show the process behind it. I use such ‘manual’ stitches for training purposes, helping others.
I hope this helps ?
- @indi001 I just found my photo alone with this man here*
Nice one Sophia
Now I realized, I haven’t any shot showing him and me in one image
- @indi001 you are too closed… I just had two photos with that man only for two years there. Btw, please type “@” first before someone’s name so they are notified you are trying to communicate with them.*
Supplemental:
Regarding the images I post, they are of course all mine and I’m the sole copyright holder.
The watermark on these images represents my initials ‘WK’ for Werner Kaffl.
Running my own photography business in Wellington since 2016, I take copyright extremely serious, naturally.
Professional image quality doesn’t necessarily mean one didn’t take the pictures they use, it only means someone has a high skill level and probably pretty good camera gear
Thank you for the tip with the @, @Sophia_Cambodia . I was wondering how this worked
- @indi001 warmly welcome. I was the same when I just started!*
Thanks a lot @Sophia_Cambodia , yes I followed your NZ posts which I did like a lot, you know . For the link it is just a text URL, to add them you can check this HowTo. The URL itself is just the Maps URL when you search for a place which you insert then here.
Very nice @indi001 and thank you very much for specifying, yes I noticed the watermark and find out they are your initials . Anyway stunning photos, well done! And good equipement … but as a professional photographer you would expect that hehe
.
Thank you again for the beautiful shots and the further explanation!
@LuigiZ haha, by now the equipment grew a bit - 6d m1, 6d m2, 5d m2, 5d m3 and latest addition 5d m4… some 8 or so lenses etc, you know the drill haha
Oh LOL @indi001 , that’s a super equipment! Yes I know the drill haha… but as simply passionate I only have a 500D, replaced last year with a 800D with a Sigma 17-70 2.8-4 and a Sigma 70-300 4-5.6, plus a Speedlite 430EX.
Perhaps my Aussie friend @PaulPavlinovich might be interested in this as well, he is also a very passionate about photography .
Great photos and amazing colors @indi001 . ALways wanting to improve my amateur photography skills, I’d love to read the your article about how you shot the pano of the statue so where can I see this?
These are grand @indi001 and thanks for the ping @LuigiZ it is a different kind of processing to my normal style so I appreciate the difference.
@AdamGT I’m happy you like my work. I don’t go into too much detail in my ‘how-to’, but rather explain the main processes - every image will be different.

There are articles about other photography related stuff on there as well, if you’re interested (all under the services section). And, of course, feel free to browse the rest of my website
@PaulPavlinovich , thank you. I agree, different styles make photography interesting. I have to say I’m all self taught, photography as well as editing, started out more for recreation - and then it turned out to add to my way of life
@LuigiZ haha, and that was only the camera side of things, by now I could have bought a pretty decent car for the price of my gear. My actual car, though, was about half the price of my 5d m4 body
Next will be, maybe, a waterproof housing - which costs more than said camera body… As did my editing equipment, shown below
Wow that is just one crazy setup @indi001
