Wellington - The Windy City

Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, sits near the North Island’s southernmost point on the Cook Strait. A compact city, it encompasses a waterfront promenade, sandy beaches, a working harbour and colourful timber houses on surrounding hills. From Lambton Quay, the iconic red Wellington Cable Car heads to the Wellington Botanic Gardens. Strong winds through the Cook Strait give it the nickname**"Windy Wellington."

**Places I would recommend to visit are: A combine ticket to the Weta Studios in Stone Street and the Weta Cave where a lot of work was done on the Lord of The Rigs films by the director Peter Jackson. Follow that up with a trip on the Cable Car to the botanical gardens at the top where you will see some exotic flowers and great views of the city below.

The All Blacks are a world famous rugby team from New Zealand who wear an all black sport kit with a silver fern on it. It the the aspiration of all other countries that play the game of rugby to beat the famous All Blacks.

Finally visit the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and you will be amazed at the exhibits on display and the layout of the building.
