One of the best things to live in Taipei is, the moment you step into the city, you are bound to be spoiled with countless choices of food - Both street sides and those from the restaurant. Whether someone is in for a quick grab, or even those craving for a fine dining, they always get what you’re looking for, and, most of the time, they’re amazingly good.
After sacrificing a number of great restaurants, here I give you my 4 must-go places, all with amazingly great food:
- Ma Tou Hot Pot (https://goo.gl/maps/9ie2VgUpiBTynyMM9)
Ma Tou hot pot is by far the best hot pot I have had in town. What makes it special is the great taste in both broth - spicy and original. They offer their home-made sauce which will bring the best flavour of their meat and other dishes. This is definitely a must-go for anyone who craves for hot pot!
- Tsai’s Braised pork rice (https://goo.gl/maps/5Qz39tZrzr4t4rHZA)
Braised pork rice is the most common food for local Taiwanese. And among all the street food shops and restaurant,
Tsai’s is probably the best. It is located at my hometown Beitou, the northern part of Taipei. You can visit it in the morning, then
have a little walk back to the Beitou library ( made of 100% wood!), and take a hot spring as a perfect ending ?
- Chi’s Steamed Dumpling (https://goo.gl/maps/F17JCLMpLgdv9MaQ9)
Before I visited Chi’s I am never a fan of steamed dumpling. To me they are just like dumplings that come out from boiling water.
I was wrong.
They offer many kinds of flavour from pork, shrimp, kimchi to loofah. Thin skin of the dumplings make all the freshness out of the ingredient.
What makes it even more special is the price - 2.5-4USD/8pcs. If you like dumpling, this is the place you don’t wanna miss…
Well that’s it for now! I hope you like my sharing :))
Feel free to ask any question.
Cheers!
