Algeria is a sovereign Arab state located in North Africa. Its capital and most densely populated city is Algiers, located in the far north of the country. With an area of โ€‹โ€‹2,381,741 square kilometers, Algeria is the tenth largest country in the world, the first African, Arab and Middle Eastern and the second in the Islamic world after the Republic of Kazakhstan. It overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, bordered by the north-east of Tunisia, eastern Libya, western Morocco, Western Sahara, south-west Mauritania and Mali, and south-eastern Niger. The city of Constantine organized the Arab Capital of Culture 2015, which was launched in April 2015 and concluded on April 16, 2016. Oran
A city in Algeria
Oran is the second largest city of Algiers after the capital and one of the most important cities in the Maghreb. It is located in northwestern Algeria, 432 km from Algiers. Overlooking the Bay of Oran in the western Mediterranean, the city has remained for many decades and remains an important economic center and seaport. It is bordered to the north by an open bay, to the west by Marjago mountain and to the Moulay Abd al-Qadir al-Kilani plateau. The cityโ€™s pool is located on the banks of Wadi Al-Rahi Creek, now called Ras Al-Ain. The population of the municipality reached 852,000 in 2009, while the population of the metropolis is 1,648,642, and its budget reached 4.8 billion Algerian dinars in 2008. The city has long attracted the attention of different civilizations and their ambitions, From Berber, Arabs, Ottoman Turks, and Spanish and French occupiers, each putting their own mark to adorn the city with its heritage and cultural mosaic. After the independence of Algeria, the city witnessed important developments which made it the second city of the country and an important economic and scientific center. Its economic activity varied from large and small industries that benefited from its proximity to the city of Arzio, and the city became a commercial pole thanks to its active maritime port, which constituted the main port of foreign trade for the whole western region of Algeria. The desert of Algeria is a desert located in the center of North Africa, part of the Great African Desert, accounting for 20%. The Sahara in Algeria accounts for more than 80% of its total area. The Great African Desert is over 3.5 million square miles and is almost the size of the entire United States of America. This desert has long been inhabited by nomadic tribes who consider the Sahara to be their home. More than 2.5 people live in borders and sometimes life is very harsh. The desert is barren land and some scientists believe it to be the driest area in 3000 years. Most of the nomads move to search for oases, many of which have an aquifer that provides plenty of water for them and their livestock. South of Algeria, there is the National Park of Tassili Nguer, a mountain range. The park has a unique ecosystem for its water capacity, and the plants are more than the surrounding desert. In the eastern part of the border one can see species of the cypress tree, which dates back to prehistoric times.
