Hello @David_K and I’d reckon that everyone in the Community would say it’s awesome that the lead of the team in NYC is welcoming everyone to the new Connect and even more awesome to hear that you are committed to being more active here, engaging more with us all.
I will certainly use the feedback form but wanted to raise a couple of issues here to see if others in the Community are finding the same thing.
Aside of the fact that the new platform supports only a subset of HTML, from my contributions in the Community I use links extensively and:
- One issue that I’m finding is that more often than not, selecting a post’s permalink does not resolve to the required post. Instead of the required post, it lands on a random post in the topic.
- Another issue is broken links here is one example: https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t/at-higher-altitude/464389/1

Hello @David_K thank you for this, I too want to delve into the new site a little more as well. The one thing that sticks out, at first look is the lack of sub categories’ or sub topics. Everything seems to be jammed together. I will include remarks in the form.
But thankyou for taking an interest in what WE think.

Regarding your 2 issues:
- I’ve not experienced the first one but I probably haven’t been linking as much as you have
- I’m guessing the broken links are because the topic no longer exists (might have been off topic). So, are you suggesting that Connect should be handling broken links better? The current error page seems pretty okay as it suggests popular/recent posts to read instead. It could probably do with some graphics to soften the page.
Anyway, those are my thoughts

Thank you for taking the time and welcoming us to the New Connect. I appreciate the Google team’s efforts in launching the New Connect, I like. I experienced the same issue many times that the permalink doesn’t show the correct post. The happens for links shared directly with somebody, but also with those embedded in the notification mails.
Sometimes, I see the requested comment “flashing” very briefly, but immediately after, it scrolls up to an older date. Possibly a problem with this new scroll bar on the right?
