Hi dear @JavieraAu : A humble Request: Kindly consider to give lesser number of LINKS to a new comer - in effect; reading rules and regulations, scares many of them - this feedback is from couple of group LGs. Hope you will take it in the right spirit and discuss with other team members also.

I am sorry dear friend, @Dmgearth - looks, during my travel, my reply to your post and photos have MISSED.

My reply was similar to this:

  1. Your photos are nice; wish you all the very best!
  2. Dear friend, I am from India - not able to understand much - could you please help us giving some more details about the photos, please?
  3. But as rightly suggested by our @JavieraAu , we need to gain some basic ideas to use LG Connect more effectively.
  4. To me, one way is to study the suggestions given by the moderator, if not in single day, but in different sessions.
  5. I have another suggestions to study other experienced contributors, in the community; this too may take little time.

I’m sorry to hear that my answer was stood to you a bit awkward to you. It was never my intention. Like I said I really appreciate your advice and it makes a lot of sense.

I just have one small question and it is about the root cause. Can you clarify what you mean by that?

Sorry, dear @JavieraAu :

  1. I did not mean that ‘Your answer’ stood awkward to me, I felt that:

First, I would have answered the contributor & requested him to follow, Connect rules, as you have guided and

Then, I would have requested you for limiting the number of links.

  1. ROOT CAUSE: “The New Comers” to Connect forum is entering without any ‘GUIDANCE’ & I am seeing many Moderators giving multiple links to the new comers; and the new comers, reading the Multiple Articles, Rules & Regulations, gets scared and LEAVE the community.

In other words, Google has to give some, basic ‘Guidance’ to the new comers, before the first LOG IN into LG Connect.

Hope, you got my both the points.

Apparently there was misunderstanding. I’m glad that we sorted this out.

We always appreciate when Local Guides share their ideas and suggestion, as they help us make people’s experience here on Connect much more enjoyable and this is always what we are aiming for.

One of our goals is to welcome the new comers by helping them discover the platform and teach them how they can use it so that they can have the best time possible. Your suggestions are really thoughtful and we will take them into consideration.

If you have any other tips or proposals regarding this topic, please feel free to post them in our Idea Exchange board. This way we can better handle them.

To me, “…our Idea Exchange board…” - is just waste of time - sorry being frank. If I post an IDEA, then I have to RUN AROUND to find other LGs to VOTE for me??? What is this???.. Very sad situation.

How many VERY VALUABLE ‘Ideas’ are lying unattended? You can see the status, to believe me. Very UNFORTUNATE!!!

There is nothing wrong to say your opinion. I’m really flattered by your words. But at the same time, I’m really sad to hear your point of view about Idea Exchange.

Please note that we review all the submitted ideas no matter how many votes they have received. Idea Exchange is a place where we can better track all the ideas and feedback that Local Guides share. You even can submit an idea on how to improve the Idea Exchange board.
