WEEKEND BIKER GETAWAYS AROUND CHENNAI

Chennai is a place that has so many monuments with the different architectural styles from the French to the British and the time of the Kings - the Cholas & the Pandyas. These are not only within the city but a short rides distance from the heart of Chennai as well. Yet, many of these are unexplored.

Travelling to unexplored places is something that I like to do. Going to these places on a bike is the most satisfying and I believe it is so for almost all bikers. Sunrise and sunset view are some of the most rewarding moments for riders. But often, it is hard to make a choice between taking a straight route to your destination and taking a, rather slower route in the hope of getting a beautiful view of the unexplored paths. This is where people like Local guides can be of help. As the name suggests, the local guides provide a true picture of the routes. With my passion of travelling on bikes, it doesn’t take much effort to provide a short description I travel which will help future explorers to decide whether they want to take the monotonous route to their destination or explore the lesser explored.

Many travellers have a variety of doubts ranging from accommodation to restaurants and the quality that these places offer. Reviews, photos, videos and public lists (https://goo.gl/maps/8MixtEwCaWu) are much helpful to decide and chalk out a plan for travel and the ones planning with families. It is not only the travellers who get the benefit of these but also the restaurants make provisions to accommodate a specific group of travellers like bikers. For example, the highway hotel called Haritam has made arrangements to accommodate the huge number of bikers who come for breakfast and tea that could make it easy for these riders to have a bite and get back on the road without needing to take off their jackets and find a big table to accommodate their gangs. Instead, the benches outside can host a large number of people without needing to get separated by dining tables.

It’s a win-win situation and the contributions will keep growing as more and more people get to know about it. Also, it is important because the biking community is growing at a fast pace in Chennai and throughout India and people would love to have the facilities that suit such groups!
