This is for the extra adventurous local guides, those who don’t mind really putting their feet to the trail. Just gathering interest at this point. Daniel Boone national forest is one of my go to stomping grounds, it’s a nice heavily wooded area with rolling hills (elevation gains for around 1000ft). I was thinking probably around 15 miles total for the weekend to keep it open to all skill levels, however length can be determined by the group.
Other NP options would be the Great Smokie Mountains in TN (home to clingmans dome at 6600ft :)) Thats a heck of a hike. There is also North Fork in WV which is an amazing 24 mile ridgeline hike that requires shuttling. Or others, share your ideas. The main thing is getting out there!
Tentative dates August 26-28th
Feel free to voice your opinions, i’d love to be able to get a backpacking group together.
