Coffee is a modern day escape.
I think it’s safe to say that we all know what coffee is or have at least heard of this delicious brew at some stage in our lives. I, myself am a avid coffee drinker. A normal morning with me consists of a cup or two.
Sometimes we find ourselves in a predicament. Our alarm was not set right; we’ve overslept and woken up too late to make our morning satisfaction. Now what do we do? Well my first thought is to grab a fresh coffee on the go.
I remember the first time I had a proper coffee.( because no, instant coffee is not coffee. It’s a substitute to keep us going till we can indulge in a masterfully blended experience) Upon that first taste I was hooked, but now the problem is finding the best places to grab a coffee on the run. I can safely say that I have tasted and tried over 20 coffee shops in Durbanville alone. But there are two that are my personal favorites.
Die Koffieman and Streams Coffee Shop.
Die Koffieman is a coffee shop hidden in the back streets of Durbanville central. They have a list of different coffee beans on the wall and you can select any one in a coffee brewing method that you enjoy. There is even the option to blend two types of beans. For instance you can ask for a Tanzanian and a Ugandan mix in a Areopress. Or a cappuccino, or a irish coffee, the list goes on! The setting is modern and comfortable perfect for a meeting or a casual catch up session with an old friend.
Streams coffee shop is at the back of Elshaddai Christian school in Durbanville. The atmosphere is great and the coffee is just as good. I enjoyed the social feeling it has.
So all in all, coffee has become a necessary part of our lives, so why not have the best you can to start everyday in the right way with a fresh cup of coffee, brewed to perfection.
