The Wazirpur Tombs are a conglomerate of medieval tombs from different eras like the Lodi Period and some are from the theTughlaq period.
One of the tombs was built in the original Turkic style with real arches at the entrance and others are clearly Hindu Temples that were converted to tombs.
The entire area is fenced with a thick wall with bastions at the corners and inside the walls is a beautiful well-maintained garden by the ASI that is the Archeological Survey of India.
Some tombs are large while others are small. In the background is a modern Gurudwara belonging to the Sikh community.
India is the birthplace of four major religions of the world - Hindu, Sikh, Jain, and Buddhist.
Also, India is the home to the last surviving people of the Zoroastrian religion that was the religion of Iran during its golden period and later overwhelmed by the Arabs who replace it with Islam.
There is also a Baoli stepwell right in front of the biggest tomb.
This is another lost jewel of Delhi which is barely maintained in a proper state and continues to remain an unnamed tomb of a lost part of the history of the Lodi Era.
If you are, like me, an admirer of the ruins of Delhi then this is a must-visit place.
