North Karnataka in India is one of the places where people rely on rain water for drinking water, for cattle, for growing Jower and pulses. politicians visit this place when the General Elections are about to take place. There is lot of controversies among the people to decide which political party one has to follow. The funds are insufficient to meet their basic needs.
In this regard, Dr. Joshi and I traveled several times in an year from Bangalore city to find solutions. we met many local leaders, youngsters, met a pontiff and ultimately, formed a group of non-residents of that native village to move forward.One such village is Kellur, (about 400 miles by rough road from Bangalore) next to Aihole a historical place in Bagalkot district of Karnataka State. We have planned to preserve the water of the lake where there is inflow from hills during the rainy season and store them for other seasons. This is one such ongoing attempts we are still making.
The students attend Schools and Colleges. The aged can only give ideas. The youngsters have migrated. The ladies are engaged at domestic affairs. Hiring people and machines are the options left.
