Maheshkhali upazila is located 15 kilometers northwest of Cox’s Bazar of Bangladesh, a popular tourist destination in Bangladesh. Sonadia is a small island in Kutubjom Union under this upazila. This island, about 9 square kilometers in area, is separated from Maheshkhali Island by a canal.
