Want to escape the curfew? Follow me to some secret places...

Due to the curfew we are obliged to stay at home, but there are a few isolated places around Jerusalem where one won’t meet other people easily, so here we go:

This deserted cave and columbarium can be reached within 40 minutes drive from Jerusalem.

MVGQ+C9 לוזית

Heading north, a 15 minutes drive will bring us to this wonderful mountain view:

Q2GJ+W7 בית שמש

A 20 minutes climb leads to this place, no human beings will be found around, due to the steep way uphill…

Heading back to Jerusalem, there’s another great place for a lonely walk: The Sattaf spring:

Q4CH+M3 ירושלים

So here is a nice proposal for anyone who is interested in breaking the curfew without endangering himself or the others…

There are some meanings of the local guides program to me: First, the fact that one can recommend those less known places and share unofficial information about them. Another aspect is the fact that the information is given by non-commercial and unbiased people, and the large amount of people makes a big difference, hence I am happy to be a part of this important information channel and I hope that my readers benefit from my contributions.

@BennyKedem I don’t think that is an good idea to break curfew and roming around in any case for the sake of own and others health unless for emergencies. My opinion is it is better to do activities like reading. Here in Sri Lanka we would end up in jail if we go outside in this curfew.

Hi Kasun Silva,

Thanks for your concern.

One is allowed to go alone or with one family member for a trip but should not join another persons. Once you meet somebody you are supposed to keep a 2 meter distance. Going to work or to supermarket is allowed under those conditions.

After one week at home with the children, I start to believe they need a daily walk outside: They need the sun and they have to move their bones a bit, otherwise the results of this extreme act might be worse for their and our health.

I am quite horrified to hear that in Sri Lanka this can lead for a jail punishment. In Israel one may get a ticket. Right now there’s even an absurd situation that some parts of the cities are not controlled at all (the ultra-orthodox parts) so they keep regular life and get infected in very high rates. This abnormality is the result of our poor political situation (no government).

Greets and wishes for a better times,

Benny
