want to add hindu temple

Want to add local temple

Hello @sathya99

I find that you already have a place created to your credit.
Thus you know how to add a place.
Anyway, you have to make a long-press or Right-click on the structure, drop a pin & then select “Add a missing place”.
However, to have a better chance for acceptance, please include photos of the place & also try to suggest the addition from the actual location.
The GPS coordinates of the photo help the AI in identifying the authenticity of the edit.
While completing the rest of the information, you can select “Hindu temple” as a category in the drop-down list.

Nevertheless, I wish to add something more to the above suggestion.
Before suggesting a place creation, please do a text search whether the place exists on the map already. Verify the structure in satellite view & then proceed for an edit.

Under what category can we place a monument? Historic site is not available on the list.

Hello @DrGM

You may not get any reply when you create a fresh query in an old thread. It’s always better to start a new post. If the topic happens to be repeated, then moderators may decide to merge that with any existing thread.

The category “Monument” is not available now for any new place creation. You can use either “Historical landmark” or “Tourist Attraction” as a category. If visitors worship the monument, then you can choose an appropriate category from the several options.

Thanks for the quick reply. I do not see tourist attraction and historic site in the category list. DO you have any suggestion what I should do?

Hello @DrGM

I checked once again. Both the categories are available. You type the letters slowly. A list will popup & that will change on appending of every alphabet. Then select from that list. You should never type the whole name but select only from the list.

Solved! Thanks so much. It is not on the dropout list, but by typing the t, more choices including tourist attraction appear. Excellent!

You are welcome @DrGM . But while responding to anyone, please do not forget to tag using@ and then selecting a name from the pop-up list.

Hi @DrGM ,

Welcome to Connect! I am glad to see you already solved your issue thanks to @C_T 's answers. As he suggested, the best way when you have a doubt is to start a new thread, unless you find a solution using the search tool. :slightly_smiling_face:
