I see my tag thediffcheff was used. To be honest I haven’t been doing much here on guides. Im From Cardiff and did start a receipt page through lockdown, unfortunately closed it down due to so much spam etc
Hi @Thediffchef ! Sorry to hear about the spam… but do keep on sharing your love for food here on Connect. During the lockdown I did a #LocalGuidesKitchen series that you can watch on YouTube. I’m not a good cook but I do enjoy cooking (and eating!). I would definitely love to see more UK based content here on Connect!
PS - you should use the @ when mentioning others so that they will get notified of your comment/reply.
I know there’s a bit of a distance between where I guess you are in Wales and Manchester - but you’d be more than welcome to come and join us whenever you can. Our next real life MeetUP is on Thursday 5th August in the evening (here’s the link) and I’m sure I will be organising more in the near future. I’m also planning another online one soon, so even if you don’t get to meet us as often as we might like in real life, there’s always that! Keep searching ManchesterLG for details.
The bunch that @AdrianLunsong has tagged are a great bunch of people and we’d make you more than welcome, even if you can only pop in occasionally.
Feel free to message me any time.
The FairTrade alcohol and Toasties are right up my street too!
@Ally91 I’m not sure who you were asking that “vegetarian or vegan” question to - but if it was me, I certainly prefer FairTrade as much as possible. I actually like Coop Wine which is fair trade and vegetarian. I’m not actually vegetarian but I’m a minimal-meat-eater in terms of environmental friendliness. And I live with a bunch of vegetarians so it’s almost my life! Not vegan - but my brother is! And he lives in Wales!
@PeteMHW That was for the @Thediffchef chef. That’s good, any steps towards a better direction is fine in my eyes! Where in Wales is your brother? I live outside of Cardif
Im trying to change from the standard meat I would cook to meat free days, in work I have made a vegan cookbook so daily there is a vegan plus vegetarian healthy options. 1 meat & 1 fish dish alongside, I’ve tried to make an effort so try the dishes at home too
Your menus and daily meat free dishes sound wonderful @Thediffchef - maybe I’ll come and sample them on a grand tour of Wales now that rules are beginning to allow that.
Hello UK - I am back!!! My travels have taken me… all over!!!.. but I am here for probably 6-months or more… we’ll see
The life of a Digital Nomad Good thing I have my Local Guide friends to keep me on track! @PeteMHW
@Globe_trotter_Ish Maybe we can do a BOBA themed meetup in London in September or something…? Or I’ve got a few clients lined up that way either way if you wanna just have a catch-up.
