I’ve noticed a difference in the total of photos I’ve contributed to Google Maps and those recorded on my Local Guide Photography Badge. At present I have a total of 966 photos on Google Maps but my badge tells me I’ve added 801 photos, a shortfall of 105. Is this a bug or is there another reason for the difference in volume?

It may take some time for all of the data to sync up, this is why we always encourage Local Guides to monitor some issues that they’ve noticed in their account for a few days.
As your post was published а few weeks ago can you please confirm that you are still experiencing this?
This in mind, I would like to mention that it’s possible that some of your photos are being made private, as they do not adhere the Google Maps Contribution policies.

Yes, the issue is still happening. Currently my Contributions show 983 photos, my Expert Photographer badge 818. I post photos of places I’ve visited and am not aware of submitting any that might contravene the policies. Any advice or a solution would be most helpful.
