Visitors Guide to Exploring Chattanooga Beyond the Tourist Traps

My name is Adam Beckett, and I write for the local Chattanooga Weekly Alt Newspaper, the Chattanooga Pulse. I have been writing for the paper for over 3 years now, and in my assigned research for the publication have learned that even though the tourist trap locations around Chattanooga are world class, that the best of the city does not include them whatsoever. As one of the nations top ranked music towns, people can walk the city and experience a wide range of street musicians performing and the nightlife is bustling. Beyond the nightlife I highly reccomend scouing the town for hidden fine arts. The local art community is next level and they have showered our delightful city with prestegious works of art. The Hunter Museum is the obvious choice, but the Scultpure Fields at Montague Park are fabulous. Tapping into the nature aspect is a must for out of town visitors alike. Peole forget that there are 10,000 miles of hiking trails within a 50 mile raduis of downtown. Hiking guides will help people figure out difficulty and beauty. Do not miss this aspect of the glorious city. The Tennessee river runs through downtown Chattanooga and multiple outdoor centers rent kyaks, paddleboards, etc.some Some days people can look out and see hundreds of people on the water at once. It is awesome. Checking out the tourist traps are cool and all, but we have 3 mountains to explore in Lookout, Signal, and Raccoon Mountain. Let Chattanooga connect you with mother nature, for you can be back downtown in less than an hour. Stringers Ridge is a must attend trail.

Thanks for the article! I had no idea about these places and I’ve lived on the Georgia side of the area for four years! This gives me some ideas for new places to explore, though I’ll have to do some research to find the handicapped-accessible ones  I love to find the gems tourists miss, especially when I get to go someplace new!
