Over a week ago, I had the great opportunity to visit Fort Kochi, a bustling town and tourist attraction in the state of Kerala of South India. One of the important tourist attractions there is the Chinese Fishing Nets area, a traditional method of fishing using a cantilever operated large net hoisted by arms and can reach over 20 meters high. This method of fishing uses no electricity or motor power and is just powered by people pulling on thick ropes to bring up the giant nets, balanced on weights. The sights and rhythm of the fishermen was mesmerizing. This method of fishing was thought to have been brought to South India via the Chinese sea-explorer Admiral Cheng He a few hundred years ago.
Nice video @StephenAbraham … You can also see this Chinese net fishing in other places of Kochi like varapuzha, kadamakkudy,. Great to see such a 360° video. Good work
Kochi was the place for the spice trade too @StephenAbraham . The Chinese go wherever their is commerce (or trading) to be made. Kochi is a lovely part of India.
The sound of the waves/water and the crows make us feel that we are staying at the spot. Using headphones makes it lively. Thanks for the awesome 360 video @StephenAbraham
