Visiting La Pastora, one of the Zoos in Nuevo Leon, Mexico

Hi everyone!

My Name is Efrain and I would like to tell you about my last visit to “La Pastora” zoo here in Monterrey, Mexico. Actually, the first thing you have to know is that ever everybody says “I want to visit the Monterrey Zoo” this zoo is located in Guadalupe, NL, it means, one of the municipalities or city halls in Monterrey that make up the metropolitan area.

This Zoo is one of three we have here in Nuevo Leon, is the oldest of the town and is the medium size of three. Smaller is Xenpal, in Garcia city hall, second La Pastora in Guadalupe city hall and the third one and bigger is “Bioparque Estrella” (Biopark Star) located in Montemorelos.

Now finally let’s talk about my last visit (and I have to say, first one after 12 years living in the state) This zoo was remodeled a few months ago and now was ready, for vacations. I was not disappointed by my visit, It is small to be the first one, there are not so many animals and the area for them is smaller. I think that the City ‘eat’ the zoo and getting this smaller than expected when it was created. Nonetheless, it is a good place to visit with the family and see wildlife closer than ever. You can see Elephants, some birds, buffalos, tigers, lions, and giraffes and contribute to the expenses generated by keeping them.
