Visiting Devil's bridge near Ardino village, Bulgaria

Hello.

During my vacation I visited the Devil’s bridge near Ardino village, Bulgaria. Built around 1600 A.C.

Here are some pictures.

And here is the legend.

The legend behind the name tells the story of a Bulgarian girl who was running away from the Ottoman governors. When she crossed over the bridge, the persecutors thought they saw the Devil in the water underneath and they did not dare to go on. The girl was set free.

The place is here.

Hope you will enjoy it.

Nice photos @BorislavA and the legend about it’s name is interesting. Looking at your photos pegs me to ask you, does the river ever pass under the bridge?

Hello, @AdamGT

Yes, the river is going under the bridge. I just don’t wanted to flood with so much pictures. :slightly_smiling_face:
