Last week, I was in Machilipattinam in Andhra Pradesh to attend a function. After the function, I travelled to a near by village called Pedana which is famous for KalamKari work which involves vegetable dyed block painting of a fabric.
This kind of art evolved during Mughal Dynasty. Different textile products like Sarees, Bedsheets, Kerchiefs, Curtains, bags are manufactured here.
When you are visiting Andhra Pradesh next time, please plan to visit this place and do some shopping of Kalamkari products.
