Dawki is a town in west jaintia Hills district in Meghalaya. It is the most beautiful place in Meghalaya with super clean and crystal clear water. This place is surrounded by lush green trees and has panoramic view. Interestingly, it is located close to Bangladesh, that’s why it is called gateway to Bangladesh. These are fishermen of both countries in the water. This is the border between India and Bangladesh; however it does not look like proper border. There is an old suspension bridge, which was built by the Britishers over the Umngot river in Dawki. This river is called as the cleanest river in India.
This is a must visit place to one visiting Meghalaya.
