Visit to authentic Mennonite raw cow milk farm at Chambersburg, PA

Our family visited friends in the Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, USA area this past weekend and we were able to visit The Family Cow, an authentic dairy farm owned by a Mennonite family.

I had been following the owner’s writings online and receiving his email, but was able to see his place in person. What a delight.

His place is like a mini-Switzerland featuring Jersey cows and beautiful farmland. It has more open skies than Switzerland, but nonetheless beautiful.

There is a retail store offering raw milk, yogurt, cheese, uncured beef sticks, raw honey, holistic raw honey, sprouted grain bread, sourdough bread, plus a large selection of frozen meats and goat’s milk.

It was a pure delight to visit and I had the pleasure of enjoying the yogurt flavored with real maple syrup. The milking parlor is next to the retail store and it is meticulous! Highly recommended! The store is small but it doesn’t take much space when the quality of the products is unmatched!

I enjoy Mr. Edwin Shank’s writings in his regular emails and highly recommended. He’s an entertainer and it’s easy to tell he’s a fun character!
