Adambakkam is surrounded by Adambakkam lake and Alandur lake. This lake starts from Velachery area and ends at Alandur covering full of Adambakkam. Minutes away from Nanganallur area, sandwiched between Velachery and Nanganallur, Adambakkam is filled with more of rich greenery, unpolluted ponds and beautiful flowers.
Adam has many meanings, in Tamil it means first habitant, while sand is another meaning of Adam in Tamil. Bakkam means an area in Tamil. Put together Adambakkam arrived. One Friday from Adyar via Guindy reached Adambakkam area. Touching parts of Velachery reaching the beginning part of Velachery lake, following the lake, I entered Adambakkam area.
Since my plan was to visit temples in Adambakkam area, with time limit I could cover three famous temples of Adambakkam.

SRI KARPAGA VINAYAGAR AND SRI PANDURANGAN SRI SARADHAMBAL TEMPLE-

Using google maps locating this temple was easy. There is a huge space ahead to park the car. This temple has two shrines - one for Lord Ganesh and another shrine for Lord Panduranga. First you get to see Lord Ganesh in Karpaga Vinayahar form. Opposite to His shrine is Sri Sarada Amma. Stopping by Sri Medha Dakshinamoorthy you get to worship Anjali Anjaneyar who is seen in Anjali Mundra form. You get to worship Sri Panduranga Sri Rukmini Devi, Lord Karthikeya along with Valli and Deivaiyani. A rare temple devoted to Lord Ganesh and lord Panduranga.

From Sri Karpaga Vinayahar temple this temple is five minutes away. Devoted to Lord Subramanya who is seen with Valli and Deivaiyani, you get to worship Lord Shiva who is known as Sri Vedapureeshwarar here, and Lord Vishnu as Kalyana Venkateshwarar.. There is a separate shrine for Kuberalakshmi Devi, Lord Rama, Lord Kala bhairavar and Sri Ayyappan. Here Lord Sarabeshwarar is seen as Sri Mangala Sarabeshwarar. Those who worship Him are blessed with auspiciousness. This temple is located in the main Adambakkam market area. Being main road, people travelling via Adambakkam have to cross Brindavan main nagar where this temple is located.

SRI ADAMBAKKAM AYYAPPAN TEMPLE-
Another seven minutes from Sri Subramanyam temple you arrive at Adambakkam Ayyappan temple. From this temple Velachery lake is 15 minutes away. Devoted to Sri Ayyappan and Sri Guruvayurappan, this temple is seen in Kerala style architecture. You get to worship Sri Mallikapuraamma, Navagrahas and Sri nagar. Lord Ganesh takes the form of Sri Maha Ganapathy here. A very neat, silent, well maintained temple in Adambakkam..

From here completing my two hour short temple Yatra, I returned to adayar. Being my first time visit to Adambakkam, I noticed colourful area, filled with apartments and buildings, jazzy markets amidst spirituality.
