Visit the Mediterranean sea in Ashkelon Marina

Ashkelon Marina

This week we finished the 3rd (hopefully the last) lockdown in Israel and I got the opportunity to start moving again and mapping the world trough my eyes :grinning:
I went sailing and noticed that I never reviewed the Marina and the area of the sailing club.
Maybe it’s because I’m so exited every time and forget about it

I decided to start with reviewing the whole area, and then later I will review and update all the shops and businesses around.

The Marina was rebuilt not a long time ago and looks beautiful!
There are a few sailing clubs you can join (even just for a day or two).
You can also visit this place and enjoy just the surrounding shopping area or sit in one of the restaurants.

I really recommend visiting this Marina if you are around the area.
Although Ashkelon was not a very touristic city, it changed in the last few years and today it holds one of the best beach parks, a beautiful marina, beautiful beaches and much more so it is worth a visit :grinning:

I’ll be happy to answer any questions about the place (I hope I will have all the answers).

Here are a few photos from the place and from the sea in front of the marina

I get seasick and rarely go on smaller boats @JoniG but this looks like a nice marina and the water is gorgeous.

Thanks for sharing your detailed article.

Hey @PaulPavlinovich
First of all thanx  I love sailing and mapping so combining them together was a pleasure!
Never felt Sea sickness in my life but I know how bad it can get.
You can still enjoy Marinas and the beach

Oh, this is beautiful. This is something I would really engage in if I had the opportunity.

I like when water is so blue, I have a photo, will share it with you later, @JoniG

The blue color was amazing @JoniG but I scared on the boat because I can’t swim .

BY the way the color sky and sea make me confused because so clear color and which one sky which one sea ha ha

@JoniG happily you reviewed the Ashkelon Marina  ! This Marina reminds me a bit of Pier 39 in San Francisco, California, USA.

Love the Mediterranean. Love the sea. Love your post and love your photos @JoniG . Great to hear that you finished the 3rd lockdown. We’ve just gone into our 3rd, a snap but full lockdown of our State here. Hopefully it will end in just a few days so that we can get out like you have. I can understand how you would be excited each time you visit such a beautiful place. Ashkelon Marina certainly looks beautiful! Have you sailed from any other Mediterranean locations?

Hey @AdamGT :grinning:

Thank you so much my friend.

It is always a pleasure to read these compliments from someone like you here

I have sailed a lot in the Mediterranean from Israel, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, France, Egypt and a few others.

Sailed a bit in Australia, sailed a bit in the red sea as well.

Do you sail my friend?

Wow @JoniG you have sailed in many beautiful places including Australia. Yes I have sailed but only a little in the Mediterranan and most of my time on the water has been on ships.

Hey @uavalentine

I love sailing! I learned that over 20 years ago at school (Naval school in Acres Israel) and I served later in the Israeli Navy.

Today I sail just once in a while through a sailing club or when visiting friends with boats.

I do a lot of Diving or Kayaking but owning a yacht is too much for me

I’m not sure about the prices in the Marina and there are no special anchoring spots that I can recommend, I think it is better to enter the Marina.

Will be happy to sail together when you visit here :grinning:
