Visit, Learn And reunion

World Female Local Guides during Industrial Visit #ShivaIndustries

Day 2 MUN 5 Bali took us to Shiva Industries in Denpasar, Bali, where we had the opportunity to learn more about an interesting approach to managing organic waste.

Shiva Industries Workshop

Shiva Industries develops machines that can help process organic waste into compost. For me, this was one of the most interesting parts of today’s visit.

We often see organic waste as something that simply needs to be thrown away. But seeing how technology can help transform it into something useful gave me a different perspective. It made me think about how small changes in the way we manage waste can contribute to a more sustainable environment.

Beyond the learning experience, today also had a special personal moment for me.

I met my fellow Women Local Guides friends.

Women Local Guides is a community of female Local Guides from different parts of the world. We originally connected through the online community, sharing stories, experiences, and our passion for being Local Guides.

But during MUN 5 Bali, I finally had the chance to meet(again) some of them in person friends from Local Guides Jakarta,Local Guides Sukabumi @NyaiNurjanah , and Local Guides Tangerang @Ratri also from Local Guides Bali ,@travelbyjp

It felt like a little reunion.

Some friendships in the Local Guides community begin through a screen. We interact online, exchange ideas, and follow each other’s journeys without necessarily having the opportunity to meet face to face.

Take picture for memories

And then, unexpectedly, we find ourselves standing together in the same place.

Today was one of those moments.

There was laughter, conversation, catching up, and of course, the joy of finally putting real faces to some of the connections we had built online.

What I love about moments like this is that they remind me that the Local Guides community is not only about contributing to Google Maps.

It is also about people, connections, curiosity, and learning from one another.

Our visit to Shiva Industries gave us new knowledge about turning organic waste into compost. Meeting my Women Local Guides friends gave me something equally valuable—the opportunity to turn online connections into real memories.

So Day 2 of MUN 5 Bali became a beautiful combination of learning and connection.

A visit that opened my eyes to another way of looking at waste, and a small reunion that reminded me how a global online community can create real friendships in the real world.

Sometimes, the most memorable part of a journey isn’t only where we go.

It’s who we meet along the way and what we learn together.

Wait for next story that I will share

Yes, we really enjoyed our meeting; we only get together once a year, as we are based in different provinces across Indonesia. We were delighted to learn new things and are eager to share what we gained with others specifically, the fact that there are people from other countries who are deeply committed to waste management in Indonesia.

Please come to Indonesia again @KashifMisidia and we loved to welcoming you

Warm regard :hugs:
