Hello Local Guides! :globe_showing_europe_africa::sparkles:

Whether you are sipping freshly brewed coffee, tea, matcha, mate or zobo, grab your favorite mug and join us for our brand-new recurring virtual meet-up: Global Virtual Coffee Talk! :hot_beverage::speech_balloon:

What is Virtual Coffee Talk?

Virtual Coffee Talk is a relaxed, open-mic virtual meet-up designed to bring us together for a roundtable conversation. There are no slides, long lectures, or formal presentations, just a friendly space to grab your favorite drink, drop in, connect with fellow Local Guides, share experiences, and exchange practical tips on improving map contribution quality in our local communities.

:bullseye: Theme for Session #1: Quality Over Quantity

In our launch session, we will open the floor to discuss:

  • What “high-impact” contributions look like in different regions.

  • Best practices for writing helpful, objective reviews and uploading clear, relevant photos.

  • Common mapping pitfalls, and how to spot and avoid auto-rejections or spam.

:date: Event Details & Recurring Schedule

  • Recurring Schedule: Every last Saturday of the month

  • First Session Date: Saturday, September 26, 2026

  • Time: 2:00 PM GMT+1 (WAT)

  • Platform: Google Meet

  • Who Can Join: Local Guides of all levels from anywhere in the world! :globe_showing_americas:

:hot_beverage: What to Bring

  1. Your favorite hot or cold drink.

  2. Your local perspective, mapping questions, and quality tips!

  3. Energy to meet and learn from guides around the world.

Let’s chat, share insights, and make Google Maps even more reliable for millions of people worldwide; one edit and one cup of coffee at a time!

See you all there! :waving_hand:

When it comes to sharing a coffee, I’m there!

This time, however, virtually: I’m moving house during those days (my mom is moving), so I’ll be thinking of you! Good luck with the meet-up @Sagir
