Since the introduction of the virtual meet-ups, Local Guides have been hosting more and more of them to connect with each other. Now that Google Meet is free for everyone, you can host meet-ups with even more participants.
This week, we rounded up some of the best upcoming virtual events to celebrate the great meet-up ideas and initiatives Local Guides are hosting around the world. If you’re interested in attending one of the meet-ups, you can RSVP directly on the page, but please only do so if you’re attending.
Here are our picks for the week from September 17 through September 26, 2020.
September 17, “#StateChallenge New York”
This week’s #StateChallenge will be about the Big Apple, New York City. If you are interested in learning more about this spectacular city, join @Kwiksatik , @Denise_Barlock , and co-host @PennyChristie , who will share their experiences with you. September 19, “Virtual Meet: Harmony Local Guides AI”
Local Guides @360bymiftah , @user_not_found , @user_not_found , and @Jesi , are hosting a collaborative meet-up to bring together the Indonesian and Argentinian communities. The idea is for the Local Guides from these countries to get to know each other, discuss potential future collaborations, and more. September 19, “Virtual local business & Maps”
Have you ever booked a virtual classon Google Maps, like a fitness course or perhaps yoga? Are you the type of person who is interested in learning different ways to support your local businesses? In this case, @Globe_trotter_Ish ’s meet-up is one you will be eager to join; justRSVP here.
September 20, “[Virtual Meet-Up] Building a Community”
Is there a Local Guides community in your city or country? Do you like to introduce the Local Guides program to others? Then @Nuhuu ’s meet-up is perfect for you. September 20, “0-Waste solution part-1”
Zero Waste is a movement that aims to reduce consumption and encourage the reuse of materials so that nothing is thrown away. September 26, “How to: Collaborative Meet-Ups”
We see more and more collaborative meet-ups every week. @Kwiksatik has more than 15 co-hosted meet-ups under her belt, and this time she wants to share some of her tips on how to coordinate collaborative events for Local Guides.
