Thanks again @KlaudiyaG for the shout out for my upcoming Saturday’s VIRTUAL: Show & Tell Ice Cream

Social meetup.

Should be interesting to see all the different kinds of frozen treats attendees will be bringing to the Social.

For example, @Melissa_Langlois has shown me a her homemade Kale and Blueberries ice cream. Would never think to add a vegetable (Kale) to an ice cream or that ice cream can be that healthy? LOL. I am a chocolate, mint, fruit flavored ice cream lover.

Cheers,

Karen

The pleasure was all mine, @KarenVChin !

Creating an ice cream flavor with kale is quite unorthodox, but I’ve tried so many odd dishes combinations over the years that it wouldn’t come to my surprise if this particular combo is a win. By the way, since we are still on the subject, have you tried olive oil ice cream? A friend of mine said that it is delicious, but I haven’t had the chance to try it yet, and to be honest, this combination doesn’t make much sense to me either.

I personally am also a big chocolate ice cream fan, but I also love caramel with sea salt and chestnut gelato. Another favorite of mine is the cone ice cream that you can get from a machine vendor. I don’t know if you’ve tried them, they usually come in 2 or 3 flavors: chocolate, vanilla, combo and perhaps strawberry. In my home country, they sell them on the street during summertime and it’s quite a nice sweet refreshment when you are outside walking underneath the hot sun.

Interesting @KlaudiyaG — never had olive oil ice cream, but I have had garlic

ice cream!!

BTW, I did bite into a fresh olive from an olive tree last November that @ErmesT has some video footage in his archives. That was definitely an interesting, memorable taste!

I do have an ice cream maker at home. I have not used in years. But given that I am at home now and I will be having my Ice Cream Social, I am starting to think about using it again

Besides chocolate ice cream with chocolate chunks and chocolate swirls, I do enjoy homemade vanilla bean ice cream and the classic Neapolitan Ice Cream (3 layers: Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla flavored ice cream) from my childhood.

If you are able, pls RSVP my meetup. It is going to be interesting— we have for example Greek, Italian, American, Kenya representation.

Cheers,

Karen
