We’ve recently announced a new way to support your meet-ups, which allows Local Guides to use the platform of their choosing to host their events. You can find more details about how to submit your meet-up on Connect here.
For this round-up, we have collected some of the best upcoming virtual events to celebrate the great meet-up ideas and initiatives Local Guides are hosting around the world. If you’re interested in attending any of the meet-ups, you can RSVP directly on the page, but please only do so if you’re attending.

January 10, “MEET-UP Virtual ¿Cómo puedes ayudar a los pequeños negocios como Local Guide?”
@AlexandreCampbell and @LightRich , two of ourGuiding Stars in the Local Business Champion category, are organizing a virtual meet-up to talk about supporting small businesses through Google Maps and why they feel this is important. The meet-up will be in Spanish, so if you are a Spanish speaker interested in this topic, make sure to RSVP here.
Alexandre will discuss the same questions, this time in English, with @AlphaSays , anotherLocal Business Champion, on January 16. And on January 23, @GasparKaren (yet another Local Business Champion) will join Alexandre for a discussion in Portuguese. January 15, “Virtual Meet-Up 15th Jan: Malaysia Local Guides supporting small local businesses”
Are you passionate about helping small businesses recover from the pandemic? Would you like to learn how other Local Guides support businesses in their region? Then join @StephenAbraham and the Malaysia Local Guide in this virtual event. Stephen has a little task for you to complete before that, and you will have the chance to present your contributions during the meet-up! @LaloPadilla invites the Mexican Local Guides to join him for a chat on January 16. The event aims to bring the community together in a safe space online where everyone can share their Local Guides’ stories, tips, and more.
