Since the introduction of the virtual meet-ups, Local Guides have been hosting more and more of them to connect with each other. Now that Google Meet is free for everyone, you can host meet-ups with even more participants.

This week, we rounded up some of the best upcoming virtual events to celebrate the great meet-up ideas and initiatives Local Guides are hosting around the world. If you’re interested in attending one of the meet-ups, you can RSVP directly on the page, but please only do so if you’re attending.

Here are our picks for the week from August 23 through August 30, 2020.

August 23, “Let’s talk about photos on Maps”

World Photography Day is coming up on August 19. In honor of it, @Globe_trotter_Ish and her guest speaker @PaulPavlinovich are hosting a virtual meet-up, which aims to help Local Guides around the world improve the quality of the photos they upload on Google Maps. August 29, “Georgia #StateChallenge Meet-up and Trivia Quiz”

The next #StateChallengeis on its way. This time, @Kwiksatik and @Denise_Barlock have invited @ejaearth to co-host theGeorgia meet-up. If you want to learn something curious about this state, don’t hesitate to save your spot. RSVP here.

August 30, “Virtual Street View Meet-up”

Do you like to contribute Street View images on Google Maps? Perhaps you have learned some new tricks over the past months that you wish to share? In this case, @Mayford 's meet-up is perfect for you. To join him,RSVP here.

August 30, “Virtual Meet-up : Présentons nos spécialités culinaires locales”

Are you passionate about food and looking to meet other French-speaking Local Guides? Then make sure to join @christophesubilia 's meet-up. During it, participants will present local or international dishes that they love.RSVP here if you wish to take part.
