Virtual Meet-up (9 Feb): Chinese New Year - Spring Festival 2021

Chinese New Year - Spring Festival 2021 will be celebrated for 15 days starting from 12th of February worldwide. A few days before that, join us on a cultural virtual meet-up, as we explore the Chinese Spring New year celebrations with food, stories, cultural performances (via YouTube) and more. Also, participants will enjoy snacks and tea virtually together, and share your local experiences about visiting local Chinatowns near yourselves where possible.

Time: 9.30pm-10.30pm (GMT+8 Malaysia)

What we will be watching

1. The story of the Chinese New Year celebrations
2. Chinese New Year foods and their meaning
3. Lion Dance performances
4. etc

What to prepare

1. Snacks and drinks (anything you want such as biscuits, cookies, savory snacks etc, tea, coffee etc)
2. Think about and prepare some sharing of your visit to a Chinatown anywhere as an experience sharing
3. Try to wear some red attired (anything red)
4. Have a great time

Since I have come to the Philippines, I have got the chance to know and celebrate the Chinese new year. I got to watch Lion dance. This will be a remembrance of all of that.
