VIETNAM IS NOT A WAR

When I had the opportunity to go abroad and meet international friends, I realized two things about my country. First, when people think of Vietnam, they think about the Vietnam War. Second, when asked about tourism in Vietnam, they do not know much about Vietnam’s tourist attractions; they do not even know that Vietnam has beaches, while half of the provinces of our country are adjacent to the sea. That makes me want to bring the image of Vietnam to more international friends, and Google local guides have partly helped me to do that.

When planning a vacation, the first thing to keep in mind is to choose a safe destination. The Business Insider has evaluated Vietnam as the safest and friendliest destination in Southeast Asia on the list of 30 ideal tourist destinations. Ho Chi Minh City is also ranked 48th by The Economist magazine (UK) in the list of 50 safest cities to travel in 2015. These factors proved that even when you travel alone, you are completely protected in our country, one of the happiest countries in the world.

Stretching from the North to the South, Vietnam possesses many landscapes that visitors will be amazed. In the comprehensive list of the most attractive destinations on the planet, Vietnam also honored many times to participate. It is Hanoi - the capital for peace, Ha Long - one of the world natural heritage, the world largest natural cave in Son Doong, or terraced fields in the mountainous areas in the north. Vietnam’s landscapes are diverse with snow in Sapa, culturally rich Mekong Delta or the most beautiful beaches on the planet spreading from the North to the South with countless landmarks and other historical sites. All are in one tropical country.

Vietnam has a rich culture and history stretching over 4,000 years. This is most evident in the folklore treasure such as legends, traditional folk festivals of each region, cuisine or French colonial architecture and culture being still visible in many different aspects, communal houses, tombs, and historical sites. Today, tourists come to Vietnam not only for sightseeing, relaxation but also exploring the history of the Vietnamese people.

Vietnamese cuisine is quite popular and appreciated by foreign tourists. On the world cuisine map, Vietnam has contributed some delicious dishes such as pho, banh mi, bun cha, fried spring rolls, to name just a few. Besides, coffee did not originate from Vietnam but helps Vietnam become well-known for its famous and delicious coffee - egg coffee. Vietnamese connoisseurs of coffee often drink coffee with a bit of condensed milk or glutinous, fragrant egg, but do not like mass-produced bland instant coffee.

Most foreign tourists feel the prosperity, thoughtfulness, and friendliness of Vietnamese people. They are willing to show you the shortest route to the destination or help you catch the bus when you are hindered by the language. Certainly, foreign tourists will quickly feel the hospitality. , attentive and generous of hospitable and hardworking people. Also, tourism in Vietnam is not as expensive as in many other countries, and there are countless interesting things waiting for visitors to explore. Many foreign newspapers have ranked Vietnam on the list of the most affordable and pleasant destinations compared to other countries. With only enough money to rent a 3-star budget hotel room in New York, visitors can enjoy quality service at 5-star hotels or high-end resorts in Vietnam.

In conclusion, the name of the country Vietnam itself nowadays may seem to represent what it suffered in the war; however, soon enough, it will definitely be one of the must-travel destinations on the list travel lovers want to set foot on.
