Two weeks ago, we and my family made a trip to Vienna. Our goal was to get to know the history of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, which our ancestors included.

We stayed at the wider city center in Votiv.

The first day of the afternoon, we went to lunch at the nearby “Cafe Francais”, where we tasted various specialties.

Then we went for a walk to nearby surroundings in the center of Vienna. We passed the famous “Burgtheater”, where the horse cabs for tourists are located.

Then we relaxed on the bench in the “Volksgarten” garden, where we admired the flowerbeds of roses and nice fountains.

Later we moved to the “Hofburg palace” - the Habsburg headquarters.

We planned his next day’s visit so we just went on to the city center at “Stephansplatz”, where the famous St. Stephan Cathedral is located.

We enjoyed the evening in the pedestrian zone among tourists and street artists. We admired the facades of historic buildings, luxury goods shops and confectionery. We ended the evening in the world-famous “Sacher Eck”, which is part of the Sacher Hotel.

Along the way to the apartment, we walked around the famous secessionie Palmenhaus, which includes the Schmetterlinghaus - a botanical garden with butterflies.

The next morning we took the metro to the Albertina gallery, where we viewed, an exhibition of modern art paintings, an Impressionist collection, and an exhibition on the history of art books and photography. We were captivated by paintings by Picasso, Monet, Chagall, Matis, Kokoschka and other artists. We bought souvenirs in the shop and we went to the pastry shop for lunch, where we tasted apple and shaped strudel and local coffee.

In the afternoon, we visited the Imperial Treasury Museum in the Hofburg Palace, which houses the expositions of the Jews of the Habsburgs. We looked at the crown jewels, religious relics, festive clothes and other valuable items.

Then we moved to the next part of the Hofburg Palace, where the “Empress Sisi Museum” is located. On the ground floor there is a huge collection of porcelain, cutlery, dishes for preparing and serving food. Upstairs, we passed through the living quarters of Empress Sisi and her family, where we admired the murals and equipment she used at home and on the road. We also got acquainted with her habits and her troubled fate, when she died at a young age of violent death of a rebel.

Hi @KarolT ,

I love this post about Vienna! I used to live there for two years back in 2014-16 and it was such an amazing time. Vienna is one of those places that has a mix of many different cultures and it was one of the things I liked most.

You’re bringing so many memories back. Did you visit Schonnbrun Palace as well? What was your favorite thing about the city?

Thanks for posting!

@KarolT You’re right! The atmosphere is wonderful and so energetic. I used to always to go Belvedere for a nice quiet time and MuseumsQuartier is another cultural and engaging place. What did you enjoy most in Vienna?

Hi @DanniS

I parked in an underground garage at the museumsquartier, but I wasn’t there. Maybe next time.
I liked the palaces and gardens the most.

Hi @955HIRO and @Moestika

Thanks for nice comments.

@955HIRO

I am very pleased with the images of the LG G5 smartphone.
I still use it in HDR mode.
The wide-angle lens is also useful for interior and architecture.

My favorite Fuji X100T has now only been used for nightlife shots. (will be in second part)

Hi @955HIRO

Now I use newer smartphone LG G7 for work, but camera and HDR mode is much better on older model LG G5.

Sensor size on G5 camera is 16:9 size. G7 is 4:3 - thats bad.

Wide angle lens on G5 is not as sharp as main lens but still good. It has wider 135° angle view, on G7 just 110°angle.

Hi @955HIRO

You’re right that both lenses LG-G5 are wide.

Main lens is about 28mm focal lenght (EQ film camera.) Has autofocus and its very sharp.

Super wide lens is about 8mm focal lenght (EQ film camera.). Has fixfocus and its not to sharp.

Both have sensor size ratio 16:9.

Color white balance and skin colors are very natural on G5.

HDR mode works very good and natural too.
