Have you heard of vertical gardens? In Lima, Peru, vertical gardens have become very popular, especially at the corporate level, restaurants, among others. Vertical gardens, also called green walls, have integrated air and irrigation systems installed that allow plants to grow well. They undoubtedly provide a beautiful aesthetic touch to those who use them and also reinforces the eco-friendly approaches that are trend nowadays worldwide. I think it´s important to point out that this trend is happening mostly in Lima, the capital of Peru. Peruvian Provinces have no adhere to this trend yet.
I am sharing 2 photos I took today (and that I published on Google Maps).
Vertical Gardens are becoming popular in Italy too, and some of my relatives are in this business, so I had the opportunity to follow this activity from the very beginning, 10 years ago.
It is amazing to see some green wall, like the two shared by you, mostly in Universities and conference centre, like the ones shared by you.
Vertical Green is also very requested on big villas, all around Italy.
BTW I will not share any photo, to avoid conflict of interest.
very nice pictures (and gardens). Yes they are becoming more and more popular also across Europe, and as @ErmesT mentioned in Italy as well, very typical for big cities (such as Milan) or big villas.
This is a very interesting, and famous, one in Milan: Bosco Verticale.
Thank you for mentioning Bosco Verticale, @LuigiZ , even if the concept is totally different (I am quite an expert about the Green Vertical concept mentioned by @marcorp , as I gave a bit of technical support for developing the remote control for irrigation and fertilization).
I love the concept developed by Stefano Boeri, and I would love (I already asked, LOL) to have a first hand photo taken from the building in front of them.
Thank you @ErmesT I can’t wait to visit again TREVISO. I was impressed fromiits beauties and kindness of people. I am sure that with nice weather it will be amazing visit around and take nice photos.
@AlejandraMaria gracias Ale! si, los jardines verticales se han convertido en tendencia pero solo en Lima, el resto del Perú es mucho más tradicional y menos vanguardista. Un abrazo desde Lima!
