Velgam Vehera Archaeological Site Google 360 Virtual Tour in 2015

Velgam Vehera is a historical Buddhist temple built in the first century AD around the western edge of the Periyakulam tank in the Periyakulama village in Katukulampattu of Trincomalee administrative district, Sri Lanka. It is one of the few places where inscriptions written in Tamil can be seen used for the worship of Buddhist soldiers in the army of Rajendra Raja, the invader who launched the invasion that led to the end of the Anuradhapura Kingdom.

When I visit the site there was no any road or place marked on the map. Then I drawn the roads and created the Placemark and created the virtual tour on Google Maps in year 2015.

That is even before Google officially start to shoot Street View in Sri Lanka. I think it is worth to share with my Local Guide members here…

Here is the Links for the virtual tour of the place on Google Maps.
