Vegetarian Awareness - Part 2- How to cook Idli - a Pure Veg & Healthy Food - TravellerG

Of course, dear @AnithaM … Most of the Thatte Idli what you get in Karnataka has Yeast content & is really soft.

I just mentioned this name - actually in Kerala, we call it “Kinnathil Appam” - you can decode it easily…right?

Hope some LGs will try this recipe and give us feedback…

Thanks for your kind companionship…

Regards with Diwali greetings…

Great post with great content as always dear @TravellerG sir. At my home Idli is always in our meal around thrice a month. Considering its healthy benefits we have it as much as possible. Through your awesome and tempting post more information I gained. Thank you so much for your lovely post. I will request my wife to make Thattu Idli soon. Right now I am on vacation tour with family and hence I got late in responding your post. Thanks again.

Thanks for your valuable response, my dear @jayasimha78 ,

Both the photos are very familiar - thank you very much.

Yes, I have tasted different types of Idlis including Podi idli…

Have you tried “Dipped Idlis”, a variant Idlis dipped in a bowl of Mangalore Sambar.

Plate idlis shown in the post area also good for carrying idlis while traveling - we usually use that type only…

With greetings & regards

Yes, you are very correct, dear @TusharSuradkar ,

The right choice of Rices and Urad dal makes the majority of the softness & taste.

That was great that you have idlis for breakfast and dinner - that is our choice too, many a days… And happy to hear that your South Indian neighbours helped you for the recipe.

Of course, there are many other subtle points which can help the idli cooking -

Thank you very much for your valuable response and support.

Best wishes

Hello, my dear @AjitThite Ji…

Thank you very much for your valuable response and support…

Ha… yes… there are many versions of idli, popular in different places…

And…in Alleppey, I have attended a restaurant making Puttu in coconut shell…it was very unique.

Also, the dipped Mini Idli in a restaurant in Salem is also very tasty and famous.

Best regards

Cordiali saluti dall’Italia

Hello @TravellerG what an interesting recipe. I really like this recipe because the ingredients and the fermentation process interest me a lot. I’m not sure I’ll find all the species in Italy, but I can try in the oriental shop.

Thank you for taking your time to share this information.
