Happy Valentine’s Day to you all :sparkling_heart:

Thanks for the constant reminder to add a food post @Rohan10
Without wasting much time, on this Valentine’s Day let’s quickly jump to a heart-warming recipe of Rose Gujiya that I recreated after watching Master Chef Ranveer Brar :man_cook: :sparkling_heart:

Rose Gujiyas for Valentine’s Day

Ingredients:
For color :sparkling_heart:
2 beetroots peeled and juiced

For filling :fish_cake:
1 cup coconut crushed
1 cup sugar
1 cup dry fruits - crushed almonds, raisins, pistachios and your choice of nuts
1 cup semolina

For outer-cover :dumpling:
2 cups of maida or refined flour
Oil for frying

For Filling:

  1. In a pan, add semolina and fry for around 10-20 minutes.
  2. Add the sugar, crushed coconut and dry fruits while frying.

A picture of filling

For outer-cover :dumpling:

  1. Add the beetroot juice to one cup of maida or refined flour and knead the dough. It would look pink colored.
  2. Knead the second part of the dough, it will appear white.

Two parts of dough

Assembly process

  1. Roll both the dough and keep them one on another.
  2. Roll the flat-base setting and cut them. Refer the pictures for the same.

A picture of sliced rolls from the rolled dough

  1. Now, carefully roll the small rolls into flat roti.
  2. Add the filling in them and fold, sealing the edges like we do incase of momos.
  3. Now, deep fry the Gujiyas till they turn golden-brown.
  4. Heart-warming Rose Gujiyas are ready to be served :dumpling: :fish_cake:

Munch on yummy Rose Gujiyas :sparkling_heart: :fish_cake:

Hi @MayuriKubal , the sweet you shared remembered me Malai Khaaja which is our Gujrati sweet but available in Karachi also at many sweets shops like Bombay Sweets Karachi and M. Sulaiman Mithai Wala Karachi.

But you can find it if you are living in Mumbai, at Muhammad Ali road where Sulaiman Usman Mithai wala have older Mumbai branch.

But I know the sweet which you shared is quite different, and I will surely try at home.

Thanks for sharing
