Google Maps has been a powerful tool to both smartphone and non-smartphone users to find places. If people find places using google maps, then your business can be found using google maps.
I love to upload small businesses to google maps where people around can easily drive or walk into shops and get what they want.
For example, my mom is a small scale food vendor, upon adding her to the google maps, her business has been on the go with newer clients calling and making orders to be sure there is food available before they come. This is what drove my interest to upgrade and bring in more small business which provides the best for the benefit of all.
When the population of local guides grow, businesses will expand.
