Hi I’m new to Google Connect. I recently set up a new Gmail account and posted a review with this new Gmail account and my nick name rather than full name. The reason being that the review deals with a company that has assisted us with an upcoming court case and as information concerning this is sensitive, I did not want to review it under my full name . I also used Firefox not Chrome to access Google Maps and write my review. Usually my reviews are published immediately. I wrote this review 2 days ago ( not published yet) . Does it take longer with Firefox to get the reviewpublished. Is there a better way I can do this ?
The automatic filter checking reviews is not concerned about which browser you use.
In my experience the filter workes immediately after you hit submit, so to keep waiting is not likely to help you.
In my post on typical review guideline violations found here I mention revenge reviews. That could be your problem. And also very long reviews are more likely to trigger the filter.
You need to edit the review to remove what ever triggers the filter. Keep trying until it happens. There is no need to wait in between tries. The filter runs immediately.
Instead of using two Google accounts I would suggest that you just change the settings of your old Google account so that it only shows an alias on Google Maps. One that does not reveal your full/real identity.
Best of luck
Morten
PS You could pm me the review text and I could take a look.
thank you for reaching out to us and a very warm welcome on Connect, the official Local Guides forum!
The issue is not really the time to get the review visible, it may indeed trigger some filters due to the way it is written, considering also written by a new account with doesn’t belong directly to a real person but used to try to write the review as an anonymous user.
Please be informed that you can participate in the Local Guides program with only one account and it is strictly forbidden to use multiple accounts, this may lead to the account(s) suspension. If you don’t feel comfortable to publish a review you don’t have to, hence why I’m thinking as well that you might want to publish a review with perhaps a direct interest like @MortenCopenhagen said, this is also strictly forbidden by the program rules.
I suggest you skip the second account and keep using your main account continuing to freely contribute honest, good and safe contents as a Local Guide.
Since you are new here let me also give you a tip by reading Your guide to Connect to make yourself comfortable and understand how to best use Connect. When you need any help you can always refer to our Help Desk, I encourage you to keep asking publicly as other Local Guides may benefit of the answers as well. If you would like to share some of your stories with us a good reference to start writing great contents are the articles How do I write a post on Connect and How do I follow the original content guidelines on Connect.
Finally you could also introduce yourself to the community and the other Local Guides by writing something about you in our monthly introduction discussion Introduce Yourself June 2022.
