USA 1987, 2008 + 2011

In June 1987 me and my wife drove from Chicago via Niagara Falls, Toronto, Lake Placid to New York City by car.

USA and Canada 1987

After a business trip to Montreal, Quebec and Chicago I rented a car to go via Port Huron, Niagara Falls, Toronto and Lake Placid to New York City.

Here are some pictures:

1987-06-18 “The Loop”, Chicago

1987-06-20 Niagara Falls, Canada

1987-06-23 World Trade Center, NYC

It was a relatively short but amazing trip.

In September 2008 me and my wife started an amazing round trip by car through some national parks.

After two nights in Las Vegas we went to Salt Lake City / Utah. Next morning we drove to Yellowstone NP and spent 2 nights there.

Then we went to Keystone (Mount Rushmore). Afterwards we saw Arches NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Grand Canyon north rim, Antelope Canyon, Mesa Verde NP, Zion NP, Grand Canyon south rim, Route 66 and Las Vegas again.

After 3 great weeks we left USA.

Amazing post on your USA tours, @saxyJurgen . Loved reading as much as I loved seeing the pictures. Especially the ones from 1987, gave the pictures a vintage look. You sure had a really great time in those road trips, I bet. How long was the tours?

Like @LilyanaZ mentioned in her comment, I would also like to remind you about the photo limit, in addition to that, I would also like to request you to change the photo size to a larger one. If you read the post from mobile, it might be okay, but if you read it using a pc or laptop, the pictures look small and hence the reader might lose interest reading the post. It would also be nicer if you posted a series of posts, focusing on the years or focusing on the travel itinerary, instead of writing a long post. That way you could have given some tips too, to the readers, if anybody gets interested in doing the same road trip reading your post. Just my two cents, for your future posts. Looking forward to reading more of your travel posts.

Thank you for the remarks and suggestions, Sonia.

My post shows the tours regarding to the places and the whole distance. I think it isn’t interesting to show further details. I made my preparations (plans) using Google maps. That’s very easy for everybody who wants to drive, too!

I’m going to learn!

Have a look at my post “1987: USA and Canada”, please.

Is that better?

Hi @saxyJurgen , yes, that’s what I meant. It looks much organized now and more interesting to see vintage photos. Thank you for sharing. For future reference, it would be nicer if you shared the link of your post in your comment. That way I would know what you are talking about. I actually had to go to your profile and see the list of your posts to understand which post you are talking about. Speaking of visiting your profile, I learned from your profile that you are an amateur saxplayer, does that mean you play saxophone? That’s amazing! What made you learn it? How do you like playing it? Do you have any videos of you playing the instrument to share with us?

@SoniaK

Thank you for your advice!

I don’t know the way to post the link to my posts.

When I was 17 a friend shows me his saxophone and asked me to play it. Unfortunately I couldn’t play. So what.

During the coming years I played the guitar and founded a skiffle group being the leader, singer and guitarist. Later on I tried the trumpet.

I learned playing the electric organ.

When I was 60 I entered the pension scheme and remembered the saxophone. In 2006 I started to learn it. Now they (the alto and tenor saxophones) are my favourite music instruments.

Have a look at my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai7B3RxRijA
