Uploading Sphere photos to Google Maps from DJI

Hi folks,

I have a Mavic Pro drone by DJI and I recently started testing some of the quickshot and advanced features, specifically panoramic and sphere photos.

I took a sphere photo using the DJI software and while I was able to preview it in the DJI Go app, it didn’t display correctly on my iphone. I then tried it on Facebook and it also did not display correctly.
Finally, I found a solution for uploading the sphere photo to a website and it converts it for Facebook. Here is the sphere live on Facebook

Is there a way to do this for Google Maps? Here is the photo I would like in a sphere

If it has to be done through the computer, that’s fine, but I would rather prefer to do it straight from my phone.

I can’t seem to find much info on the web or DJI forums.

@LucioV can you help me out with this?

Hi @robtee generally speaking, if you have an equirectangular photo (2:1 proportions) with at least 14 mpixel and no more than 72 mb, you can import on Street View App (you can save your pano in google drive and download in your camera roll) and upload to a place.

The workflow I use for my aerial panos is:

  1. Sphere shoot with DJI GO App or Litchi, 34-42 shots in DNG

  2. Develop the DNG using Adobe LIghtroom

  3. Stitch the JPG using Kolor Autopano Pro/Giga

  4. Correct zenith using Adobe Photoshop, eventually adding sky from other shots

  5. Publishing with gothru.co on specific place
