Dear guides team,
I’m new in that and have a big wish to help and contribute, but after I contributed few dozens of photos (after I loged in on my Google Gmail account), I cannot find any button or even possibility to upload some more on locations I visited last week. I found exact spot on maps, but I cannot find possibility to upload some more, do I made something wrong? Must be in sky view or on maps view? How I can add some new place (like some beach), because mostly are marked just objects like apartments and restaurants? After I uploaded photos and became local guide, how I can add some comments on photos I already uploaded?
Sorry for my beginner questions, but please help!
Thanx in advance!

Hi @Tomislav1966
You are most welcome to ask for help here on Connect.
To make contributions you need to log in using a Google Account. Of cause, you should use the one you used to sign up for the Local Guides Program. If you are not logged in, you will not see the options to add photos and reviews. Could that be a solution on your problem?
There is a lot of stuff on Google Maps that we can not add photos and reviews to. Roads are one such example. If you are confused about areas and items on the maps not accepting edits and photos, please enjoy my new post called Easing frustrations II: Stuff we can’t edit on Google Maps.
Maybe that is what you are experiencing.
Some categories are also not available to Local Guides when we try to add new places. If the correct category is not available (and there is not a more general one) then this is Google Maps whispering that we should not add this place. Beach is one such category.

Hi Morten,
thanx for Your fast and simply understanding explanation.
I logged over Google account and I saw - just after I picked existing link on something - possibility to add photos. Sometimes it is not what I wanted - and I wanted for that photos to be visual description of exact spot, not somethink linked to some object - like restaurant - in which I wasn’t there, or it is simply far from spot I give photo about, or it looks like I make a add for some caffe, restaurant etc - what I do not wants.
I must see how to be possible to mark some spot which is not commercial (beach, walkway, local historical place…), and regarding beach (as category which is not “normal” to be marked, I saw not just one example where beaches are marked as category and as object (marked with greendrop with sun-umbrella inside - like here https://www.google.hr/maps/contrib/117406831341531867434/photos/@45.0613471,14.1341558,13.12z/data=!4m3!8m2!3m1!1e1 ), I wants to learn how to make a spot on map on which I can add photos. It is clear that many of that spoken examples cannot be done, but what is really important and explainible, hope it must be possible to add on map.
Aagain, thanx for your help, and your articles in which I can learn a lot,
Cheers, Tomislav

It would be really helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.
The link you shared is not working. All I saw was your Maps profile. Please consider removing selfies and photos with people posing in them.
Maps users (including Local Guides) can not add photos anywhere they want to. You can find old photos added to just a set of GPS-coordinates. But this is no longer possible. You can also add 360 photos anywhere.
Feel free to ask more questions when you have read my tutorial. I think Example 5 about a lake in India is the one most relevant to your issue.
Cheers
