Updating restaurant name that I added on map

Hello all, sorry but I don’t know exactly where to post it. This is the closest topic I found.

Recently I added a new place in sao Paolo. It was added immediately after I sent the address and photos…the problem is that after it I saw that my phone corrected the place’s name. Instead of Fakku (right name), it putted (Falou). I tried to correct the name but it is unsuccessful. I’m already waiting for almost a month.

Why does it take so long to correct a name from a place that I added? I want to put the right name to help other people in my city.

I appreciate if anyone could help me

As I understand, the change of name has to be confirmed by another LG through “verify facts”. You need to wait for that @RogerOhayashi

Meanwhile, you can favour others by doing the same deed on their suggested edits.

Until your edit still pending, you have to wait, @RogerOhayashi

Alternatively, you can use “send a feedback” to inform the team about your mistake

I’d like to let you know, edits take more time to be approved and be visible on Google Maps. You can read a bit more about pending edits here.

I’m a bit late to this party @RogerOhayashi and you’ve had some great answers.

In this case, if the original edit was approved but you cannot change the name (edit not applied) I would send feedback to the team.

Alternately I’d be tempted to add the place again with the correct name and information and if that gets approved close the first one as a duplicate of the new one so that reviews and photos get transferred. I would not do this as normal practice as it would likely be seen as spammy.

Hi @PaulPavlinovich how can I contact the team to talk about it?

The place was added without any problem, just the misspelling with the name.

If needed I could close and open the place again, but I’m not sure if it would be approved so fast. The best way is to change the name.

You can see in the image bellow, first-line was edition and second one was added.

I did your suggestion and delete the wrong place, then added the right place.

It was instantaneous.

In answer to the question you asked but I wasn’t around for a while to answer (working on my house renovation) - the best way is to send feedback within the Maps App.
