I want you to help me and other users of Google Maps to achieve the best experience by getting the most relevant routes by car in Yoshkar-Ola, Russia.

But first, a brief story behind it.
Last year the 4 streets were renovated in our city. On 3 of them, the new lane markings have been applied. It’s double solid lines; dashed and solid lines and new road signs, such as: “Turn only right”, “Drive only straight and right”, “No entry”.
As a consequence of these changes, navigation on Google Maps needed to be updated. So I started to send many of feedback reports since August 2019.
Then, on October 19th 2019, I asked for help on Google Maps Forum. One product expert answered, but the issue hasn’t been resolved.
On March 2nd 2020, I made a second attempt on that forum. Not a single expert answered.
Couple of weeks later, you know what happened in the world, but I continued to send my reports.
And now, I’m asking here on Connect. Please fix these streets in Yoshkar-Ola:
- Leninskiy Prospekt;
- Pervomayskaya Ulitsa;
- Ulitsa Karla Marksa.
Before that, you need to know some Russian Traffic Rules:
- Crossing a ‘double solid line’ in Russia is illegal. Penalties: Maximum fine - 5000 RUB or revocation of driving license for 6 months or 1 year if you caught a second time.
- You are allowed to turn left and make a U-Turn from the leftmost lane by crossing a ‘dashed and solid line’ from the dashed line side.
- You are allowed to turn left and make a U-Turn from the leftmost lane on the intersection by default, even without a road signs, if nothing restricts that.
- You are allowed to make a U-Turn from the leftmost lane on the intersection, even if you see the road sign: “No turn left”, because it’s applied only for turn left.
- You are not allowed to turn left and make a U-Turn if you see the road signs: “Drive only straight”, “Drive only straight and right” and of course “No U-Turn”.
- And finally, you are not allowed to turn left if you see the road sign: “Turn only right”.
I collected all of the uncorrected maneuvers into one large spreadsheet in 6 pages and for better understanding shown the same on Google My Maps.
There you’ll find everything: photos, links, coordinates and description of every move.
Green - resolved, yellow - half resolved, white - unsolved.
Please fix the unsolved moves: restrict the left turns and allow another, create allowed U-Turns on the intersections using Russian Traffic Rules and information I provided here.
U-Turns are really important for navigation on the streets with a ‘double solid line’.
