More or less as the title says I would like to see newer material of street view or even new areas. Why is there no official communication why that is not happening?
I saw some cars, but why is Google not updating the existing streets?

In the spring and summer of 2018, the streetview cars covered large parts of Germany, but none of that material is being published, it seems. Probably this is once again linked to the âDatenschutzâ

The information there is quite clear, they do not add the taken pictures to street view, the material is only used for google maps, as can be read there âWir wissen, dass das Interesse an unseren Kamera-Autos groĂ ist. Es sind dieselben Autos, welche wir in der Vergangenheit genutzt haben, um Bilder fĂŒr Street View aufzunehmen. Bei den kommenden Fahrten nutzen wir das Bildmaterial aber nur, um Google Maps zu verbessern und haben keine PlĂ€ne, dieses zu veröffentlichen.â, the English version does not contain this sentence.
No interest in protests and discussions as there were in the past.

As mentioned above by @Florian you can check where the car is currently located and where the shooting is scheduled here. As you can see there, the team is going to work on the listed regions till November 2019.
