Blog snippet:
If you’re a travel enthusiast like me, you’ve probably been dreaming of visiting Greece, one of the most captivating destinations in the world. Last summer, my sister and I decided to turn that dream into a reality. We planned an unforgettable trip to Athens and Santorini, and I’m excited to share our experiences and some valuable tips with you!
Timing and Traveling:
We chose to visit Greece towards the end of July so the weather was hot but not overbearing. As much as cost-friendly flights are tempting, I highly recommend finding a flight with no more than one connection. Unfortunately, flying has become more unpredictable lately, with increasing delays and cancellations. I use Hopper to track flight prices and when to book. To ensure a smooth journey, give your trip ample time to account for traveling and potential delays, and remember to stay calm in such situations.
#### Choosing the Perfect Trip:
Before embarking on your adventure, decide what type of trip you want. We were seeking a perfect balance of cultural exploration and relaxation, so we chose Athens and Santorini. Both places offered unique experiences that made our vacation truly memorable.
#### Athens, the City of History:
Our journey began in Athens, the heart of ancient history and vibrant culture. After landing, we got ourselves a local SIM card at the airport for data throughout our stay. It turned out to be more cost-effective than the international plans from our carriers back home. However, my sister opted for eSIM data, which had some minor issues with iMessage during and after the trip. I’ll have no choice to try the eSIM on my next international adventure since the new iPhones no longer have SIM card slots.
